I am currently Early Years Leader at the school and teach in the Reception class. During my time at South Hetton Primary School I have taught throughout KS2 and Early Years and have seen many changes in the education system, which have impacted on our children’s education. As a member of the Governing Body I aim to act in the best interests of the children in the school and the wider community. I want all of our children to reach their full potential, whatever their abilities, and I want them to be young people we can all be proud to have in our community.
I have a passion for outdoor learning and offering opportunities for children to enhance their life experiences through residentials and educational visits. I have attended numerous conferences and completed case studies which show the benefits of outdoor learning. I believe parental engagement is of high importance, and have led many projects involving parents which have helped forge positive relationships.
I have a son and a daughter who I am extremely proud of and enjoyed being involved in their education as a parent helper, fundraiser and member of the PTA in both primary and secondary education. I enjoy walking, eating out, spending time with my family and friends and visiting new places.
