Our Year 6 children have taken on the Go Givers Make a Difference Challenge this year and are trying to help combat Period Problems and Poverty (#PPP).
Various collection points have been put in place around our local village including the shops and Silverdale Family Practice where anyone can donate sanitary items, hand gel and wet wipes for use in the creation of ‘pants packs’. So far we have had an amazing response and the first packs were created today (18th June) ready for distribution. Please continue to donate either at one of the donation stations or straight into school.
Our local MP Grahame Morris is also taking our campaign to Parliament this week and will be posing questions to the Minister for Women and Equalities, as well as praising our school children and the support from our local community. As well as this, 3 of our children and Mrs Hill were interviewed by Heart Radio regarding the project. The children were fantastic and spoke with a lot of maturity and confidence, the report will be played on Heart Radio during the Breakfast show (around 6am) and also during the evening news show (approx. 6:50pm).
We would like to thank everyone for their support so far and we hope to continue to make a huge difference to our local area.
