Welcome to our Make a Difference Committee page. Our Ambassador is Mrs Ryall and will be looking at how we, as a school, can make a difference in our local community.
November 2020
On Monday 16th November our ever popular and successful reverse advent calendar is starting. Due to covid restrictions, we are going to do things slightly different this year. We would still like you to show that it is not just one day that people live in poverty, therefore if you could bag up 5 items (or whatever you are able to give, 1 item is appreciated) and bring them in on one day during the week shown below for your child’s class.
Nursery and reception week commencing Monday 16th November
Year 1 and Year 2 week commencing Monday 23rd November
Year 3 and 4 week commencing Monday 30th November
Year 5 and 6 week commencing Monday 7th December
Following the success of our period poverty campaign in 2018, sanitary products would also be very welcome.
All proceeds will go to East Durham Food Bank to make a difference to people in our area who will not have the same Christmas privileges that we are lucky enough to enjoy.
October 2020
Following the return to school our new Pupil Parliament committees are now up and running. Our first project this school year is in conjunction with the RSPCA and PC Peter Baker.
This year our Make a difference Committee are taking part in the RSPCA campaign to help prevent the cruelty and neglect of animals. There is a ‘design a poster’ competition, details below, and all we ask for is a donation of pet food, toys or blankets. Donations can be brought into school from now and will be collected in each class. If you are heading to the supermarket please consider putting one extra tin of dog or cat food into your basket. Thank you in advance for your support.
